Red Gum Reflections is a private counselling and supervision practice inspired by the iconic Australian gum. Enduring. Rugged. Watchful.

Gums are resilient; adapting to changing seasons and conditions. Our work supports clients and practitioner to find steadiness, clarity, and growth in the face of life’s challenges.

Established in 2025 and based in regional Victoria, we work with clients and clinicians across Australia via secure, encrypted video and phone sessions, and in person in Avenel, VIC. We hold full professional registration with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and maintain current insurance, policies, and procedures to ensure high-quality, ethical practice.

Our services combine integrative psychotherapies, and evidence-based approaches with a grounded, plain-spoken style.

JACK O'SULLIVAN

Registered Counsellor | Clinical Supervisor | Narrative Therapist | Director – Red Gum Reflections

I bring a calm, down-to-earth presence. No jargon. No psychologising. Plain-spoken evidence-informed therapeutic conversations to get clear on what matters, what’s weighing you down, and what you’d like to see change.

Over the years I’ve worked with men, women, and folks from all walks of life. My professional experience includes working with relationships and separation, generalist counselling, trauma-specific services, counsellor training, case management, and equine-assisted therapy.

My academic background includes postgraduate training and research in narrative therapy and community work, an Australian-developed psychotherapy,  as well as degrees and studies in counselling, developmental (complex) trauma, clinical supervision, philosophy, and theology, both inside and outside Australia. I keep close to local and international research as a commitment to evidence-informed practice.

When I’m not doing this work, I train, read, garden, travel, and catch up with mates. I’m an avid learner who uses my skills and knowledges with those who are keen for counselling and supervision.
